Execution

Execution applies the approved harmonization plan to the source dataset and produces the harmonized output. No input is required from you at this stage.

Overview

Once you approve the plan in Strategy & Planning, aha executes every decision, target mapping, and transformation automatically. The process typically takes a couple of minutes.

The side-by-side preview

When execution is complete, the module displays two tables side by side:

Preview Unharmonized Dataset — the original source data with its original variable names and values.
Preview Harmonized Dataset — the transformed output, with renamed variables, recoded values, and converted data types applied.

Proceeding to validation

Click Next to proceed to Validation, where aha runs automatic quality checks. If something in the preview looks wrong, click Back to return to Strategy & Planning and adjust the plan before re-running.
